Credo

Why have one planet when you can have two? Humanity throughout history has been a species that, like Oliver Twist, has wanted more. So why do so many of our aspirations seem to stop at the edge of our home planet's atmosphere? Do we lack the nerve, the imagination, the resources? The answer is no in each case. Visionaries are already dreaming the dream of going to Mars and have started planning for the reality. They have some finance and many supporters; but for now they have too little of both.

What we need is a vast increase in people ready to seize the future - not carpe diem but carpe futuro. The Elon Musks of this world deserve more back-up than they currently get. The greater the public demand for a future beyond Earth, then the more the impetus for the early colonisation of Mars will grow. I have started this blog to add my small voice to all those calling for a great new venture (and adventure) for mankind. The aim is to argue, cajole, attempt to inspire, make constructive suggestions, and provide news and comment as developments take place. Mars is uninhabited. It is ours, all of humanity, for the taking. Had the explorers and colonists of the past sat on their hands and talked about new worlds, just think how backward and unfulfilled we would now be. It is more than time to stand up for our interplanetary 'manifest destiny'. Lets go!
